Summary/Objective:

Fast-paced and rapidly changing, Northwire designs and manufactures custom, made-to-order products for a diverse range of industries.  Successful TEAM members will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude and exacting attention to detail.  This position provides technical support for operators, sales and engineering on machine, equipment, and material processing. 

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide technical support for operators explaining and demonstrating the operation of equipment, material processing, and safety in material handling
  2. Collaborate with Sales and Operations on process and quality improvement to ensure the delivery of high quality products that exceed customer expectations
  3. Equipment updates
  4. Improves processing of equipment
  5. Actively communicates with Production, Sales and Management
  6. Participates in daily meetings
  7. Produces reporting as needed
  8. Practice the 5’s+1 methodology on the assigned area and common areas
  9. All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

Working within an air-conditioned production/manufacturing environment.  Walking surfaces are cement flooring with anti-fatuige mats.  Must be able to work in a standard office environment with shared desk areas, seated for extended periods of time.  PPE required: Steel toe shoes and safety glasses.      

 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, walk, and bend. Must be able to work onsite.

 

Expected Hours of Work:

Flexible schedule and willingness to work extended hours as needed to complete work as required.  Must be able to work overtime as required.

 

Travel:

Minimal travel may be expected for this position.

 

Relocation:

None required.

 

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.   Technical degree preferred.

5 years manufacturing experience preferred. Wire and cable manufacturing experience desired. Training in problem solving skills (PDCA).
